This seems to be happening because of the chapters being in their separate. tex files. With that permission, Diego Vitali has adapted the same to suit the Roehampton University standard, which he published under a GNU license. This template is currently designed to use biber, since it is growing in popularity and is easier to make custom changes to without learning a whole new language.
